Course Description

Are you interested in becoming a beauty therapist? Would you like to achieve a range of professional skills in this area?

This course is suitable for school leavers or mature students who are enthusiastic in developing the skills needed to become a professional beauty therapist.

During the course, you will enhance your beauty therapy skills, practising treatments such as waxing and eyelash and brow tinting. These skills will prepare you for employment of further study.

Entry Criteria

In order to qualify for this course, you will need at least one of the following:

  • 2 GCSEs at grade C or above, and 1 GCSE at grade D/E in English or Welsh 1st Language and Maths, or Entry 3 / Level 1 ESQ in Numeracy and Communication
  • A relevant Level 1 qualification at Pass
  • Relevant industry experience

You will also require an attendance level of 86% in your previous year of study.

As part of the application process, you will be asked to attend an interview to give you the opportunity to discuss the course.

The course will be delivered through a blend of the following:

  • Commercial Salon Training
  • MOODLE

You will also undertake work experience as part of the programme.

Your programme will include a combination of:

  • Essential Skills qualifications and/or
  • GCSE resits

GCSE resits

This may include GCSE Numeracy/Maths and/or Welsh/English Language.

Maths & Welsh/English

If you don't achieve a C or above in Maths and/ or English/Welsh, we will support you to retake these subjects as part of your study programme.

The course is assessed through a blend of the following:
