Course Description

Are you looking to start or develop your career in an office environment? Are you a school leaver or are you looking for the skills to change your career or return to work? Could you benefit from a range of useful skills that are suitable for a variety of office contexts?

If you already have office/work experience, or if you are progressing from Business Administration Level 2 (or equivalent), then this course will enhance your knowledge and skills.

During the course you will cover a large range of topics, giving you comprehensive skills and experience in all aspects of administrative work to a higher level. The topics cover the same areas as the Level 2 course, but at a more advanced level. You will be able to further develop your work skills and employability, as well as gaining a recognised Level 3 qualification.

Practical experience is provided on the course including work experience. Subjects include business administration skills, essential computing skills, text processing, experiencing working life and typing.

Entry Criteria

In order to qualify for this course, you will need at least one of the following:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English or Welsh 1st Language and Maths
  • A relevant Level 2 qualification at Pass
  • Relevant industry experience

As part of the application process, you will be asked to attend an interview to give you the opportunity to discuss the course.

Welsh Baccalaureate

Welsh Baccalaureate is a valuable qualification which is often studied alongside your Level 3 full-time course.

The qualification is graded A*-E, carrying the equivalent UCAS points at Level 3, and equips you with transferable personal and business skills. It is highly regarded by universities and employers alike.

As part of the qualification, you will learn about Global Citizenship, Enterprise and Employability and take part in community engagement and work experience.

Essential Skills

This may include a combination of Application of Number, Communication, Digital Literacy and Essential Employability Skills

GCSE resits

This may include GCSE Numeracy/Maths and/or Welsh/English Language.

Maths & Welsh/English

If you don't achieve a C or above in Maths and/ or English/Welsh, we will support you to retake these subjects as part of your study programme.

Assessment

The programme will be assessed through a blend of the following:
