Course Description
The Apprentice would study towards the CIPD Foundation Certificate in People Practice.
It is aimed at those aspiring to become HR professionals. Specifically aimed at HR administrative and HR advisor roles, the course focuses on developing individual HR skills in contemporary human resource related subjects.
The Foundation Certificate in People Practice is a new qualification released by The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, which you can choose to study online through Grŵp Llandrillo Menai.
Emphasis will be on the role of HR as a business partner to line management, and will explore how HR plays a major role in forging an organisation's vision. On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded The Foundation Certificate in People Practice.
Studying a CIPD qualification at foundation level will provide you with the knowledge required for new Associate professional level of CIPD membership.
In addition to the formal qualification, you will have gained an insight into operational HR and also gained invaluable experience from others who have been on the course with you.
You will study the following subjects throughout the year. Each subject involves lots of classroom discussion and interaction amongst students albeit the lessons are online.
All modules are taught by experienced staff that have extensive, operational knowledge in their field.

- 3C003 Core Behaviours for People Professionals
- 3C004 Essentials of People Practice
The apprenticeship is also made up of Essential Skills in Application of Number, Communication and Digital Literacy Level 2, however, there are some exemptions for these.
Entry Criteria
You must be employed in a HR role for 16 hours or more per week and have an employer who'll support you. This Apprenticeship is suitable for a variety of HR roles, including HR Administrator, HR Advisor, HR Officer, Assistant HR Manager, Assistant HR Advisor.
It will be necessary to confirm basic skill requirements and to confirm that all students are able to meet the assessment requirements of the course.
You will also be required to be in CIPD membership for the duration of the course. It is possible that membership is required for a second year. The current membership cost per year is £135 (subject to change by CIPD).
Grŵp Llandrillo Menai recognises that some students may not have studied for some time, and as such, are able to support new students on an individual basis.
All places are subject to satisfactory interview.
Delivery
The delivery of the Foundation Certificate in People Practice will combine a wide range of learning methods and is taught completely online.
Essential Skills are also delivered online. College attendance is required for the tests.
Assessment
Each CIPD subject will be assessed by a formative assignment. There are no formal examinations.
Essential Skills are assessed through tasks and tests.
Progression
CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management Level 5, Higher Apprenticeship.
