    The ABBE Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency Measures for Older and Traditional Buildings enhances understanding of pre-1919 structures. Aligned with PAS2035 and PAS2038, it suits Retrofit Assessors, Designers, and Coordinators in risk paths B & C.

    Learners can identify features of older buildings, evaluate energy efficiency options, and provide recommendations for implementing measures.

    Entry Criteria

    No specific qualifications or experience are required, but is ideally suited for Retrofit Assessors, Designers and Coordinators working on traditional buildings with risk paths B&C

    Delivery

    This course will be delivered over two consecutive days with a requirement to complete two short multiple-choice tests and a virtual interactive case study on the final afternoon which will make up a portfolio of evidence.

    Day 1, 09:00 - 16:00:

    • Understanding British Standard 7913 (BS 7913) for older and traditional buildings
    • Analysing construction and age aspects
    • Managing maintenance strategies
    • Recognising performance influencers and implications for energy efficiency measures
    • Determining suitable measures and materials
    • Insight into energy efficiency methods

    Day 2, 09:00 - 16:00:

    • Advising on energy efficiency measures in older and traditional buildings
    • Engaging in a Virtual Case Study
    • Concluding with two Multiple Choice exams.

    Upon completion of the qualification, learners will possess the ability to:

    • Identify the age, nature, and distinctive features of older and traditional buildings.

    Evaluate various options for implementing energy efficiency measures in such buildings, offering recommendations and guidance on their introduction
