Course Description
This qualification covers the installation of dedicated electrical energy storage systems (EESS) in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems.
This qualification is aimed at practicing electricians, electrical technicians and engineers with experience of electrical installations, and associated inspection and testing.
By the end of the course, you will:
- Know the key requirements for installation of electrical energy storage systems
- Know and identify equipment, arrangements and operating modes of electrical energy storage systems
- Understand the preparation of design and installation of electrical energy storage systems
- Be able to prepare for the installation of electrical energy storage systems
- Be able to install electrical energy storage systems
- Understand requirements for initial verification and handover of electrical energy storage systems
- Be able to conduct initial verification and handover of electrical energy storage systems

Entry Criteria
1. REQUIRED 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations award (e.g. C&G 2380 series or EAL 603/3298/0) and
2. REQUIRED Level 3 Testing and Inspection award (C&G 2391 or equivalent) and
3. REQUIRED NVQ Level 3 electrotechnical or equivalent (Historic awards such as C&G 236 Part 2 or “B” Certificate)
Delivery
The course will provide detailed theory and practical knowledge enabling you to apply the relevant regulations and guidance when involved with battery storage systems.
