    Course Description

    The NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management is designed for individuals with responsibilities for Environmental Management; providing specialist knowledge on issues such as environmental management systems, sustainability and pollution prevention and control. It is invaluable for managers taking on environmental responsibilities and those aiming to develop and implement effective environmental management systems within their organisations.

    There are 2 units:

    Unit ED1- Controlling Environmental Aspects

    1. Key environmental cycles and the effects of human activity on the environment.
    2. Environmental leadership.
    3. Environmental management systems and emergency planning.
    4. Environmental risk evaluation and control.
    5. Environmental performance evaluation.
    6. Sustainability.
    7. Waste management.
    8. Managing emissions to the atmosphere.
    9. Managing emissions to the water environment.
    10. Control of environmental noise.
    11. Hazardous substances and contaminated land.
    12. Energy use

    Unit EM2 - Environmental regulation

    1. Enforcement of environmental legislation.
    2. Civil liability.
    3. Pollution prevention and control legislation.

    Entry Criteria

    A good standard of English is required.

    The NEBOSH Environmental Certificate

    There is also the requirement to complete research into the environmental issues at the delegates place of work.

    Delivery

    On line lectures.

    Assessment

    Unit ED1- a 3 hour written exam

    Unit EM2- An 800 word report.

    Progression

    Delegates may choose to continue onto the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
