Please contact us for further information about applying for this course.

Course Description

The Level 2 in supporting adults and young people with Essential Skills enables the learner to expand their engagement skills and support adults and young people with communication, literacy, numeracy and English as a second language.

The course looks at barriers to teaching and how learners are assessed and referred to the most suitable provision. Candidates will also learn the skills needed to give the best support within a class according to current good practice models.

This qualification is suitable for people who work or volunteer in Community Education for Adults (ACO), Work-based Learning, Higher Education or any organization that is in contact with adults who need help with improving communication, numeracy or English as a second language.

Learners who are working towards this qualification are asked to do 8 hours in a work setting where they support learners or a group of learners who are working towards improving essential skills. Two observation sessions are essential.

Instalments

Courses and exam fees over £100 are eligible to be paid in instalments. Learners pay 20% to register, and up to 4 monthly payments. A standing order form must be completed at the time of registration if paying by instalments.

  • at least 18 years of age to achieve this qualification.
