Course Description

The Level 2 Diploma in Primary Care, Administration and Reception is designed to introduce the initial skills and knowledge needed to be successful in a frontline reception or administrative role. It is suitable for those who are new to working in a reception/administrative role in NHS Primary Care or those currently working in Primary Care in a patient-facing, back-office or telephone call-handling role.

This qualification and the units within it are suitable for learners who are working within a healthcare setting.

Entry Criteria

You will need to be 16 years of age or older and must be employed within an administrative role in Primary Care.

Delivery

This qualification is carried out through work based learning and is delivered on a one to one basis. This qualification is available in both English and Welsh.

You will build a portfolio of evidence to show how you met the National Standards in your day to day work, and that you are aware of relevant legislation.

Assessment

You will provide your assessor with evidence of work situations you have dealt with. This can include:

  • Case Studies
  • Questions and Answers
  • Discussions
  • E-mails or letters to support your written evidence
  • Witness Testimonies from your colleagues or line manager

Diplomas will be marked by a workplace assessor and moderated by the internal verifier.

Progression

This qualification may prepare learners for progression onto the Level 3 Healthcare Management qualification or alternatively a level 3 in Digital Skills for Business, Level 3 Business Administration or Level 3 Customer Service qualification.
