Full Time
There are two ways to apply to study for a full-time higher education course - either through UCAS or directly to the college.
Applying through UCAS:
You should apply through UCAS if you are currently studying for A Levels, a vocational Level 3 course (i.e. BTEC) or an Access to Higher Education qualification, or if you wish to apply to more than one higher education provider.
Applying to College:
If you only want to study at the college, or if you already have the qualifications/experience to meet the requirements for your course, you should apply directly to the campus of your choice.

Course Description
This Applied Mechanical Engineering Systems Degree Apprenticeship provides an alternative route to traditional higher education – combining work with college and university study.
This course develops a broad understanding of mechanical engineering and business principles so as to assist in becoming a competent engineer with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for a professional career in the mechanical engineering industry. The programme develops given knowledge in engineering principles in both electrical/electronic and mechanical theory in to applying them in real situations. It provides practical skills in design, testing, heath and safety. It develops mathematical approached to engineering and theory demonstrating this in the final year with Power and Industrial Engineering.
Entry Criteria
- Apprentices need to be in either full or part-time employment (minimum 16 hours a week) in the relevant employment in Wales.
- All applicants will be considered on a case by case basis and will be expected to attend an informal interview.
If your qualifications do not meet the entry requirements listed above, we would still encourage you to apply for the course you're interested in, as many of our courses will consider learners based on their previous work and skills experience rather than their qualifications.
Delivery
The course is delivered through interactive lectures, tutorials and workshops. There will also be presentations by guest speakers. Learning is practical and informal.
Assessment
You’ll be assessed through a variety of methods such as practical and theoretical assignments, reports, oral presentations, project work, portfolios and team-based assignments.
Progression
Completion of the programme can lead to a range of options in employment and education.
