Course Description

Professional short course - The Award in Bridal Hairstyling is for people who want to expand their hair up skills and improve their bridal /wedding hair confidence.

With this qualification, you will gain the knowledge and skills you need to use different techniques to secure hair up and create different looks.

You will design a style book to reflect techniques learnt and produce it as an assignment for marking.

You will need three long hair models for your assessments creating three different looks.

This course shares the latest trends in dressing bridal hair whilst developing new disciplines and traditional skills. You will develop confidence and a fresh outlook for dressing bridal hair. Designed for any hairdresser that wants to extend their current skills or anyone who wants to learn how to create fashionable classic and contemporary long hair styles perfect for brides. This course will inspire you to create some fabulous bridal styles including day and evening looks.

This course covers:

  • Long hair styling including rolls, knots, twists, plaits, curls and woven effects
  • Hairpieces, ornamentation-the use of temporary pieces and ornamentation to create show stopping styles
  • Creating classic and contemporary bridal styles

Entry Criteria

Applicants must be enthusiastic, committed and with artistic flair.

You do not need any experience, as you may already have an interest in bridal hair.

Basic literacy needed.

Learners will need to provide their own long hair head block to practise with and some hairdressing tools.
