Course Description
An apprenticeship in construction is a form of vocational training whereby the apprentice follows a Construction Skills' approved framework to develop skills and knowledge, and then demonstrate and evidence their application in a construction environment.
This Higher Apprenticeship has been developed to meet the needs of individuals working within Building and Civil Engineering, Highways and Maintenance Repairs, Residential developments, Conservation and Demolition and Tunnelling.
The job role can include working on built environment projects assisting the Site Manager to, manage staff and budgets, ensuring contract is delivered on time and to programme, responsible for hiring staff, deliveries and quality management and costs.
Entry Criteria
All places are subject to satisfactory interview.
Delivery
- Technical training is provided in the college 1 day per week, including time in practical workshops.
Assessment
- Completion of a portfolio of evidence
- Work based observations
- Theory based tasks and tests
Progression
You can progress to a Higher Apprenticeship Level 5 or 6 in Construction Site.
