Course Description
As businesses embrace new digital technology to transform their operations, it is essential that the workforce has the skills and knowledge for the business to reap the rewards
Digital Apprenticeships have been designed to develop the digital skills necessary to function effectively in a range of business settings. The qualification content ranges from word processing and spreadsheet techniques to digital security, project management and effective digital communication.
Many roles are covered by this framework and could be within:
- Junior administrative functions of private and public sector organisations handling data and documents.
- Junior healthcare, retail, financial services, engineering and agriculture workers who need to interact with digital systems and automation.
- Operatives working in any sector which make use of data centric digital systems to process and store data of any type in junior roles.
The Level 2 Digital Skills for Business Apprenticeship has been designed to equip employees with the foundation digital skills that they need to be able to perform their role.
The Level 3 Digital Skills for Business Apprenticeship has been designed to improve and expand their work-based digital skills capabilities to include more complex tasks and in-depth knowledge.
Entry Criteria
No formal qualifications are required, but experience in IT is desirable.
Apprentices must have an employer or mentor who has relevant knowledge in the subject area and can offer on the job training.
All places are subject to a satisfactory interview.
Delivery
Work based delivery - use of an electronic portfolio and Teams meetings. Hybrid using remote meetings and face to face observations.
Assessment
Assessment by observation, discussion, assignments, Q&A, work products.
Progression
● Level 3 Diploma in Digital Skills for Business
● Level 3 Diploma in Social Media for Business/Digital Marketing
● Level 3/4 Diploma in Business Administration/Management.
