Short Course

Course Description

This course is designed to upskill existing plumbers to gain recognised training to move into this renewable sector.

Candidates will gain confidence to select, install and maintain domestic Ground source pump heating systems.

Entry Criteria

N/SVQ Level 2/3 Plumbing or Domestic or Industrial and Commercial Heating and Ventilating

Equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence

N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Oil-Fired Technical Services or

N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance

3 years’ relevant experience

(Candidate must provide evidence of competence)

In addition, if not included in the above, current certification in relation to:

Water Regulations/Water Byelaws.

Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating

Unvented Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems

Delivery

The course is delivered over 4 days, with day 4 available for assessment, using purpose-built indoor rigs, trained by qualified instructors using bespoke BPEC learning materials at Rhos-on-Sea

Assessment

Multi choice questions, written answers and practical assessments that are designed to ensure that all candidates are treated fairly and equally throughout the country. This approach ensures that both employers and customers can be confident that an operative assessed at a BPEC Centre.

Progression

This course assists in CPS & MCS accreditation and is an entry requirement to the government eco schemes.
