Course Description

This qualification is for those who wish to carry out formal visual inspections, and inspections and tests of electrical equipment. Electricians who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills or those who wish to pursue a career in the electrotechnical/building services sector.

Entry Criteria

This course is suitable for Level 2 competency learners as defined in Health and Safety Executives HSG107 Maintaining Portable Electrical Equipment.

A Level 2 Operative is defined as: A person with appropriate electrical skills, who uses sophisticated test equipment that gives readings which require interpreting. Such persons need to be competent through technical knowledge and experience related to this type of work.

Assessment is by means of a practical assessment and an open book exam based on the IET Code of Practice
