Entry Criteria

The Diploma in Effective Coaching andamp; Mentoring is for managers and those with significant responsibility for effective coaching and mentoring as part of their daily role within an organisational context. They are also ideal for individuals who wish to move into a development role or start a career as a freelance coach or mentor.

Delivery

The course is delivered through a blend of the following:

The sessions are delivered in English and the session resources are mainly in English although some resources are available in Welsh. The assignment, and portfolio of evidence can be completed/submitted in Welsh.

Understanding the skills, principles and practice of effective coaching and mentoring within an organisational context - The purpose of this unit is to enable learners to understand the role and contribution of coaching and mentoring to individuals and organisations and make a case for using coaching and mentoring in their organisations.

Undertaking an extended period of effective coaching or mentoring within an organisational context - The purpose of this unit is to enable learners to demonstrate their ability to undertake a workplace coaching or mentoring programme.

Reviewing own ability as a coach or mentor within an organisational context - The purpose of this unit is to enable managers to review their ability to perform effectively as coaches or mentors.
