Course Description
On this course you will learn safe and effective techniques to craft an item from sustainably harvested Anglesey wood. You will be using files and small knives, and we will have an opportunity to do some sharpening and maintenance throughout the session.
A typical project would entail selecting suitable pieces of elder, apple or birch wood, and whittling them into a working whistle to take away.
We will discuss responsible foraging, blade legalities, folklore and other historical uses of our native woods.
This an enjoyable and relaxing activity. You will leave with new skills and knowledge, to teach other members of your family when you get home!
