Land-based Engineering

Facilities include purpose-built engineering workshops and machinery used on the college’s commercially run 160 hectare farm.

The facilities at Glynllifon include a purpose-built engineering workshop and modern welding and fabricating facilities. Learners gain realistic and relevant experiences working closely with the on-site college farm where a range of modern farm machinery are operated and maintained.

The department also works closely with local businesses and employers. Specific units on the courses explore topics such as engine technology, machinery operations, crop and livestock husbandry, business management, precision farming technology, diagnostic equipment, workshop practice and power units. Learners will also get an opportunity to attain additional qualifications and additionalities such ATV, tractor operations, telescoping handling and others.
