Apprenticeship - Construction Contracting Operations Level 3

Apprenticeships

Please contact us for further information about applying for this course.

Course Description

An Apprenticeship in construction follows a pattern of vocational training to meet the requirements of a CITB approved framework. This enables the development of skills and knowledge which is then demonstrated by acquiring evidence in a real construction environment. Apprentices following this framework can expect to be continually assessed to gauge their suitability for progression to a Higher Apprenticeship (Level 4 or above).

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations is underpinned by the technical certificate of the BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment, providing two qualifications on completion.

This technical certificate is delivered on college grounds one day a week, alongside guidance and review sessions for the collection of work-based evidence required to complete the NVQ.

This evidence is submitted to an online platform enabling constant access to the portfolio and a holistic way of managing the criteria. Individual learning plans provide clear direction for each apprentice in regards to their progress with regular reviews providing employers the opportunity to monitor their investment.

Entry Criteria

You should have achieved a Level 1 or Level 2 post-16 qualification in Construction or have at least one year of life skills gained after compulsory education and meet the Apprenticeship entry criteria.

Apprentices must have an employer who can cover the apprenticeship qualification criteria.

If desired, this would lead to further progression in gaining a Foundation Degree in Construction and the Built Environment, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Conservation and Restoration, Quantity Surveying, Architecture/Design, Architectural Technology or Building Surveying.
