Course Description

This engaging vocational course is aimed at individuals who have a keen interest to learn about vehicle maintenance and develop the relevant skills.

This course is practical and hands-on. You will perform tasks in industry standard workshops to develop a wide range of vehicle maintenance and associated skills including; basic hand skills, maintenance techniques, fabrication & welding.

Entry Criteria

3 GCSEs at grade E or above, and either of the following:

  • Show a keen interest in the subject
  • Successful completion of Level 1 School Link Programme

As part of the application process, you must attend an interview to discuss the course and demonstrate your interest.

  • Classroom activities

The programme will be assessed through a blend of the following:

  • Practical assessment
  • Online assessment
  • Oral questioning
  • Written questions
  • Short learner task sheets for you to complete independently

Progression

Successful completion of this course will give you the opportunity to progress to Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Level 2 or Foundation Apprenticeship Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light).
