Course Description
This NPORS course is designed for individuals who are responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and managing personnel on a construction site. These individuals would usually include site managers, potential site managers, supervisors, persons with health and safety responsibilities.
By the end of this course delegates will have covered the following:
● Health & Safety legislation
● Legal duties (employer, employee, self-employed and visitor)
● Construction (design and management)
● Health & Safety Policy
● Risk Assessment & Method Statements (RAMS)
● Legal requirements for provision of information
● Maintaining competence on site
● Importance of excellent communication
● Principle of leadership and worker engagement
● Importance of accurately measuring monitoring and reporting on health & safety
● Health & Safety risks
● Identify statutory and non-statutory forms, notices, signs and registers
● Accidents causes, preventative measures and Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
● Construction phase plans
● Ill health causes and metal health issues
● Requirements of welfare facilities
● Drugs and alcohol
● Control of Substances Hazards to Health (COSHH) and respiratory concerns
● Noise, vibrations and manual handling
● Considerations when setting up a site
● Fire arrangements
● Electrical safety
● Temporary works

- CSCS Touchscreen test completed within the last 2 years.
- A driving licence is preferred but not essential.
- Good understanding of spoken and written English
