Learner Testimony
Victoria. Level 2 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
Victoria stated "I started as an apprentice teaching assistant in Ysgol Aberconwy in September 2021. It was my first role in a secondary school and found it daunting at first but soon settled into the 6th Form more as a guidance mentor more than a teaching assistant. Michele was able to help to clarify my role with the school. I found having the freedom to complete the units when best suited me was ideal as I would do a little bit of them every night once my kids went to bed. This meant that I spent the weekends and half terms with my kids. The support I received throughout the course was very valued for me personally. I felt comfortable emailing my assessor Michele with any question. Michele kept in contact with me on a regular basis and would often have our monthly zoom calls which Michele always ensured they were to a time or date that suited me working and if the time/date didn't suit she was always happy to re-arrange for a more convenient time. When I was struggling Michele helped me to get back on track and helped to push me to my full potential. She knew I wanted to complete the course before the summer holiday and she helped me by sending feedback from the assessments quickly. The feedback from units was always to the highest standard and when it came to observations Michele calmed me down as I was a nervous wreck! Thank you for all the help during the past year. Diolch yn Fawr"
