Course Description

This course is designed for qualified/experienced engineers who are intending to work on domestic unvented hot water storage systems.

COURSE OUTLINE

This course includes the following topics for domestic unvented hot water storage systems:

• Controls

• Vented hot water systems

• Unvented hot water systems

• System design

• Safety requirements

• Installation and commissioning requirements

Assessment by a multiple choice question paper, practical assessment workbook and practical exercises follow the training elements of the course.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Successful candidates will receive a certificate of competence in compliance with G3 of the Building Regulations and Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (England and Wales).

Entry Criteria

Candidates need to have:

• An existing unvented hot water certificates.

• An appropriate S/NVQ Level 2 or 3 or BTEC equivalent.

• An appropriate industry registration scheme such as Gas Safe Registration or OFTEC.

• At least 2 years verifiable industry experience of installation of domestic heating and hot water systems currently un-certificated skills equivalent NVQ Level 2 or 3.
