Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor Art students celebrate the centenary of Criccieth Memorial Hall

Art students from Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor’s Pwllheli and Dolgellau campuses have contributed to a trail of clay sculptures that have been installed at the entrance to the Memorial Hall in Criccieth, to celebrate the centenary of the hall's opening.

There will be a wide range of celebratory events taking place throughout the week starting Saturday, May 28, with college students playing leading roles in the celebrations. There will also be an exhibition, which will include a film shot by the students as part of a packed week of events to mark this important occasion.

Ffion Meleri Gwyn, Creative Arts lecturer at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, Pwllheli, said: "This is a great opportunity for the students to participate in the Criccieth Memorial Hall centenary celebrations, and it is wonderful to see the results of this community project.

“It is extremely important that young people are provided with such opportunities, so that they can see that the fruits of their labour are valued, develop their skills, and experience the feeling of belonging to a close community. The centenary trail will be greatly appreciated by locals and visitors for years to come.”
