Darren Millar visits Coleg Llandrillo to meet WorldSkills gold medallist Yuliia

Darren Millar MS visited Coleg Llandrillo to meet student Yuliia Batrak following her WorldSkills UK success.
The Senedd Constituency Member for Clwyd West also received an update on the latest developments at Coleg Llandrillo and Grŵp Llandrillo Menai.
Yuliia, from Kyiv in Ukraine, is studying Level 2 Professional Cookery and Level 2 Food and Beverage Service.
She won gold in the Restaurant Service category at this month’s WorldSkills UK finals in Manchester.
Darren spent time talking to Yuliia, who will now be included in the UK squad for the WorldSkills finals in Shanghai, China in 2026.
He said: “Yuliia is an inspiration, she has achieved excellence competing on the national stage.
“It was a privilege to meet her today and to see her drive and determination to succeed.
"I was struck by how hard she works and how committed she is to her studies at Coleg Llandrillo. I look forward to seeing her success in the future."
Coleg Llandrillo Principal Lawrence Wood said: “I want to thank Darren for his continued interest and support for our work here at the college.
“It was also a great opportunity for him to meet with Yuliia and to hear about her experiences, especially as Darren had visited Ukraine and Yuliia's home city of Kyiv.
"We were all very moved by Yuliia's determination to be the best she can be.”
