Dolgellau student receives recognition for voluntary work at a ceremony in Caernarfon
A student from the Skills for Life and Work department at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor’s Dolgellau campus was recently recognised for her voluntary work at an awards ceremony at the Galeri in Caernarfon.
The evening was organized by Mantell Gwynedd, the agency that supports community and voluntary groups across the county, and encourages voluntary participation.
Kamar El Hoziel from Porthmadog has completed over 200 hours of voluntary work in the past year, both with outside agencies and within the college.
Morfudd Pugh Edwards, course coordinator for Developing Independence for Living and Work Skills at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, Dolgellau, said: "Kamar has worked really hard and staff within the department are very proud of her success. Kamar is keen to continue volunteering and we wish her well with this.”
Staff from Grŵp Llandrillo Menai will be following in Kamar’s footsteps later this month, when they will be volunteering within their own communities as part of the college group’s Community Volunteering Day on June 27.
