Forestry student scoops Royal Forestry Society award

We are delighted to announce that Nick Roberts, an L3 Forestry and Countryside Management student at Glynllifon College has been awarded the Royal Forestry Society shield.

Nick was presented with the shield at a special ceremony on the Leighton Estate in Welshpool.

For 140 years, the Society has been committed to sharing knowledge of the art and science of woodland management so that the accumulated wisdom and experience of landowners, foresters, arborists and others is passed on from one generation to the next.

Jeff Roland Jones, Head of Forestry at Glynllifon said.

“We are extremely proud of Nick's success. This is a very special award to be won, and a testament to Nick's hard work and dedication to his studies. ”

He added

“The Forestry and Countryside Management sector is one that is growing annually in Wales with plenty of employment opportunities. Well done Nick, the College is extremely proud of your success. ”
