New tender opportunities to help shape tourism and hospitality in North Wales

Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s Tourism Talent Network spoke partners have announced new tender opportunities to help shape the tourism and hospitality industry in North Wales

The Tourism Talent Network is a partnership of ambitious, innovative, and transformational ‘spoke’ businesses who have come together to deliver jobs and investment in the region, around a project ‘Hub’ at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s Rhos-on-Sea campus.

Coleg Llandrillo, Zip World, Portmeirion, National Trust, and Snowdonia Hospitality & Leisure Ltd, alongside an additional partner soon to be announced, aspire to enhance educational standards and training opportunities.

Zip World, Portmeirion and Snowdonia Hospitality & Leisure are now inviting businesses to submit bids for the construction elements of the projects which will boost the sector and equip its future workforce with the necessary skills for the digital age.

The Tourism Talent Network (TTN) is part-funded by the North Wales Growth Deal and aims to future-proof tourism and hospitality in the region.

Hedd Vaughan-Evans, Head of Operations at Ambition North Wales, said: “The Tourism Talent Network project will bring together Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and leading regional businesses to transform skills development within the North Wales Tourism and Hospitality sector and create exciting career pathways. We’re eager to see this project providing the sector with a high-quality workforce enabling economic growth and innovation that drives sustainable tourism within the region.

“As with all Growth Deal investments, the project seeks tender applications demonstrating positive social value impacts for the region and how they will help achieve our biodiversity and emission reduction targets.”

Lawrence Wood, Senior Responsible Officer and Principal of Coleg Llandrillo, said: “This is an exciting opportunity that will support the growth of the tourism and hospitality industry in the region, as we create a new world-leading campus in partnership with our Spoke Partners.”

The Zip World project involves the construction of a new teaching and learning infrastructure at Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which will seamlessly integrate the heart-pounding adventures of Zip World with the dynamic realm of education and innovation.
