PARC MENAI’S FIRST ART EXHIBITION SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE PANDEMIC
Art students at Coleg Menai recently exhibited their work in the first physical exhibition since June 2019.
The MA Fine Art students showcased their pieces - including paintings, print, sculptures, videos, performances and installation - at an exhibition open to friends and family on Friday (September 17th), at Parc Menai.
The exhibition, titled ‘Triptych’, consists of the work of three students: Kate Parker, Simone Williams and Niki Cotton. Each artist worked toward their own personal vision, where themes explored included ideas of home, motherhood and the environment.
The exhibition is the first exhibition the Art department has been able to physically hold in over two years, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Emrys Williams, Programme Leader of MA Fine Art, said,
“It’s so exciting to finally see this show! The students demonstrated great adaptability working in new ways because of the pandemic”
“They kept their creativity alive and it is a great credit to them that they have put together an ambitious exhibition without any compromise”.
