Rally Car Visits Motor Vehicle Department
A professional rally car recently spent the day at Coleg Menai’s Llangefni campus.
The Ford Fiesta M-Sport R5, owned by CSG Motorsports, is used to participate in Tarmac Rallying and Circuit Rallying.
Motor Vehicle and Engineering students had the opportunity to discover more regarding the performance of the car, and the maintenance of it.
Damian Woodford, Programme Area Manager for Engineering, said,
“We are really grateful to CSG Motorsports for kindly allowing our students to spend a day with the rally car. This was a fantastic experience for them to learn more about a specific type of vehicle and the specialised elements involved in its performance and maintenance”
Daron Evans, Workshop Supervisor and Rally Car Mechanic, said,
“With thanks to the team, it was made possible for students from all engineering courses to see the work and different methods that go into manufacturing such a car and to have a close up look at a modern era rally car.”
Arron Peel, Deputy Programme Area Manager for Engineering, said,
“This is another fantastic example of the Engineering department working with local industries to show what is achievable, and the opportunities available within the engineering sector”
“Thanks to CSG Motorsports - we look forward to working with them again soon!”
