Rhun wins national award for quality in construction
Rhun Williams is studying for a degree in Construction Management and was recognised at the National House Building Council’s ‘Pride in the Job Awards 2023’
Coleg Llandrillo construction student Rhun Williams was recognised for the quality of his work at a national awards ceremony.
He was presented with an NHBCPIJ 2023 Quality Award at the National House Building Council’s ‘Pride in the Job Awards 2023’ in Cardiff.
Rhun, from Caernarfon, works as a site manager for John Kelly Construction Services, and is studying for a BSc (Hons) Degree in Construction Management at Coleg Llandrillo’s Rhos-on-Sea campus.
The award was given for his work on the Bro Eglwys housing development in Caernarfon.
His achievement is all the more impressive as Rhun, a former Cardiff Blues rugby player, has been working in the construction industry for less than three years.
The NHBC Pride in the Job Awards have been running for 43 years, and are a prestigious benchmark for exceptional site managers.
Rhun’s personal tutor Alex Roebuck said: “We as a team are exceptionally proud of Rhun.
“His diligence and hard work have clearly paid off, and we are glad it has been formally recognised. Well done.”
In a statement on social media, John Kelly Construction Services said: “Congratulations to our site manager Rhun Williams, who has been awarded an #NHBCPIJ 2023 Quality Award, recognised for our Bro Eglwys, Caernarfon development. Having only joined the industry two and a half years ago, this is a great achievement.
“John Kelly Construction is dedicated to producing quality work. Credit goes to the whole JK Team as well as our talented sub-contractors.”
