Students get a Taste of Professional TV Production
Students on Coleg Menai’s Creative Arts, Media, and Hair and Beauty courses recently worked alongside a professional TV crew.
The students spent a day in the studio and on the set of Rondo Media’s ‘Rownd a Rownd’ TV Series, supporting the filming of a bespoke scene.
An informative seminar and mentoring sessions were also held by Rondo Media staff beforehand, to support the students’ understanding of working on a professional TV set, as well as to answer any questions.
Roles that the students undertook varied from actors, sound technicians and camera operators, to directors, editors, on set electrician and hair and make-up artists.
Fflur Rees Jones, Assistant Principal at Coleg Menai, said, “We are very grateful to Rondo Media for providing our students with this fantastic opportunity.”
She added, “The experience our students will have gained will be second to none, and will certainly support them when looking for work after college”.
Rownd a Rownd Executive Producer, Bedwyr Rees, said: “The television and film industry in Wales is thriving. If we can inspire the next generation of television and film workers through this important partnership with Coleg Menai, it’s beneficial for the series, the company and the wider television and film industry in north Wales.”
