‘The Last of Us’ games designer inspires Coleg Llandrillo students
Peter Field visited Coleg Llandrillo’s Rhos-on-Sea campus to speak to Games Development learners
Games designer Peter Field recently visited Coleg Llandrillo to give students first-hand insight into the industry.
Peter worked for developers Naughty Dog on The Last of Us, the highly acclaimed survivor horror game that was adapted into a hit HBO TV show.
He has also worked on several other games including Dreams, Uncharted 3, Enslaved and DmC. You can learn more about Peter’s work on his website here.
Peter visited Coleg Llandrillo’s Rhos-on-Sea campus to speak to Games Development students about ways into the industry, and to showcase good practice in game design.
He also gave learners invaluable feedback on their work, and signed a book of artwork from The Last of Us.
Students said his visit inspired them as they aim towards careers in the industry.
Kyle Glynn, who is studying a Bsc (Hons) in 3D Animation and Games Development, said: “Peter helped me have a better understanding of how to level-design, and gave me more motivation to become a level designer. He gave me some great feedback on my group project.”
Rob Griffiths, Computing & Creative Industries lecturer and Programme Leader for Games Development Year 2, said: “It's great to have Peter to come and speak to our students. His enthusiasm and knowledge are incredible, and naturally impact students’ motivation.”
