Course Description

The economy relies of the efficient movement of goods within the UK to ensure that goods arrive on time and in the right condition, and warehousing and storage businesses play a crucial part in making this happen.

These jobs involve a variety of tasks, including receiving and storing goods, stock and inventory control, packing orders, dispatching customer orders, using and operating equipment, maintaining hygiene standard and maintaining health, safety and security.

Warehouse Operatives at Level 2 work as part of a team, and may be required to load/unload vehicles. They will also have delegated responsibility for the correct selection and packing of customer orders, ensuring they are ready for despatch on time.


Entry Criteria

  • No formal qualifications are required.
  • Apprentices must have an employer who can cover the NVQ criteria.

Delivery

  • The majority of training is provided in the workplace. As well as guided learning, there may be other required learning that is directed by tutors or assessors. This includes, for example, private study, preparation for assessment and undertaking assessment when not under supervision, such as preparatory reading, revision and independent research.

Assessment

  • Completion of a portfolio of evidence
  • Work-based observations
