Course Description
The economy relies of the efficient movement of goods within the UK to ensure that goods arrive on time and in the right condition, and warehousing and storage businesses play a crucial part in making this happen.
These jobs involve a variety of tasks, including receiving and storing goods, stock and inventory control, packing orders, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a warehouse.
Warehouse Operatives at Level 2 work as part of a team, and may be required to load/unload vehicles. They will also have delegated responsibility for the correct selection and packing of customer orders, ensuring they are ready for despatch on time.
At Level 3 Warehouse Team Leaders work as the senior member of the team. In addition to their normal warehouse activities, they will also have delegated responsibility for overseeing the correct selection and packing of customer orders, ensuring the team complete these tasks on time ready for despatch.
Entry Criteria
- No formal qualifications are required, but experience in warehousing is desirable for level 3.
- Apprentices must have an employer who can cover the NVQ criteria.
Delivery
- The majority of training is provided in the workplace

- Completion of a portfolio of evidence
- Work-based observations
- Theory-based tasks and tests
Progression
- From Foundation Apprenticeship Level 2 to an Apprenticeship Level 3
