Course Description
The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management is designed for practising middle managers, helping them to develop their skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.
You can choose to study at our Rhos-on-sea campus, or at the Management Centre in Bangor University.
Entry Criteria
All places are subject to satisfactory interview. There are no formal entry requirements, but participants should normally:
- Hold a Level 4 management qualification, or possess equivalent professional experience
- Be working as a manager
- Have the support of their employers, with or without sponsorship
- Have a sufficient level of Basic Skills, Literacy and Numeracy, in order to benefit fully from the programme
- Complete the Level 5 Award and Certificate modules as part of the Diploma, if applicable.

Assessment
The course is assessed through a blend of the following:
- Work-based assignments
- Portfolio

Progression
Completion of this course allows you to progress in your management career. You will become a more effective and efficient manager, and you will excel in your professional practice. You may be able to work towards promotion, into either middle or senior management.
Within education, the logical progression is to complete the ILM Level 6 Award in Management, which is offered by Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and will equip you for senior management responsibilities. This could be followed by the Level 7 Award, Certificate and Diploma, which offer senior management skills at a very high level.
