Course Description

Do you have an active interest in performing? Would you like to develop your skills and build your confidence?

This course is designed to introduce a range of performance skills, including acting, movement, performing in a musical context, and working on your own innovative ideas.

You will gain a valuable insight into the performing arts, and be able to work in a professional manner with people who have the same interests.

The course will allow you to gain confidence over time, performing with your classmates and preparing to perform before an audience.

Entry Criteria

There are no specific recommended prior qualification requirements for this qualification.

However, places on the course are subject to interview and audition.

Delivery

The programme will be delivered through a blend of the following:

  • Group work

  • Classroom and theatre based learning

  • Tutorial support

  • Educational visits

  • Google Classroom

Your programme will include a combination of:

  • Essential Skills qualifications and/or
  • GCSE resits
Essential Skills

This may include a combination of Application of Number, Communication, Digital Literacy and Essential Employability Skills

GCSE resits

This may include GCSE Numeracy/Maths and/or Welsh/English Language.

Maths & Welsh/English

If you don't achieve a C or above in Maths and/ or English/Welsh, we will support you to retake these subjects as part of your study programme.

Assessment

The programme will be assessed through a blend of the following:

  • Practical and written assessments/assignments

  • Presentations and demonstrations

  • Portfolios and logbooks of activities

  • Performance and observation
