Course Description
This Level 2 Certificate in vehicle fitting principles is for anyone developing a career in the motor industry who wants to develop practical skills in and broaden their understanding of motor vehicle systems, such as tyres, brake systems, exhausts and laser wheel alignments. Successful candidates will have the skills needed to apply for an automotive Advanced Apprenticeship or similar engineering pathway.
Entry Criteria
Level 1 Foundation Engineering Craft or 3 GCSE grade D or above.
Delivery
Mix of practical workshop sessions with classroom based theory.

This may include a combination of Application of Number, Communication, Digital Literacy and Essential Employability Skills

This may include GCSE Numeracy/Maths and/or Welsh/English Language.
Maths & Welsh/English
If you don't achieve a C or above in Maths and/ or English/Welsh, we will support you to retake these subjects as part of your study programme.
Assessment
Work is assessed through a mix of ongoing practical activities, online exams and in house written assessments.
Progression
Successful completion can lead to employment in vacancies such as tyre fitting, vehicle fitter, 4 wheel alignment technician or to an Apprenticeship in the Automotive Sector. Learners can also progress to the full Level 2 Diploma in Automotive Maintenance, subject to application and interview.
