Busnes@LlandrilloMenai Accountants continue to impress
Professional learners studying Busnes@LlandrilloMenai’s AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) programme have once again secured a place at the WorldSkills Finals competition.
Clare Sharples, Carwyn Littlewood and Lauren Harrap-Tyson are the latest in a long line of AAT trainee accountants to qualify and proudly represent Team Wales at WorldSkills UK.
Qualification for the competition is no mean feat, to win their place competitors take part in a gruelling online task lasting 4 hours which includes an online presentation and a reflection session. Even then competitors face an agonising 3 week wait to find out whether they have been successful.
Thankfully all the hard work paid off and the trio have earnt a place at the WorldSkills UK National Finals, which will take place in Greater Manchester from 19 – 22 November.
Lecturer in Accountancy Amanda Williams commented:
“We are very proud of Clare, Lauren and Carwyn for winning medals in the Skills Cymru competitions and for progressing to the WorldSkills UK finals, while also working towards their AAT qualifications. Their commitment to personal development and representing Busness@LlandrilloMenai is to be commended. We are excited to support them and help them prepare for the finals in November.”
Lauren is an Accountancy Apprentice with Bennett Brooks Accountants while Carwyn and Clare study using the personal learning account PLA funding.
