Two ex-CMD students making beats in the music industry.

Two former Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor students, Eben Rees and Rhodri Price, have been recognised by the BBC’s Project Horizons/ Gorwelion. This is a scheme delivered by BBC Cymru Wales - in partnership with Arts Council Wales - to develop new, independent contemporary music in Wales, as an up-and-coming music and production label.

After studying for his A-levels at Pwllheli, Eben went on to study Medicine at Cardiff and is now a doctor. Rhodri, who completed a BTEC Level 3 in Engineering at the Hafan and went on to study Audio and Music Production at Liverpool John Moores University, is now studying for an MSC Audio Forensics and Restoration.

Eben said recently that they wish “to influence the sound of the scene with music that you can truly believe in as a collective - pushing music and genres that people didn't necessarily think or know they would enjoy, and supporting artists who are fully invested and passionate about the music we love.”

We are very proud of their success, and we wish both of them the very best for the future.
