Myfyriwr Mynediad i Addysg Uwch yn cipio gwobr Myfyriwr Cenedlaethol y Flwyddyn
Mae Kelly Osbourne, sydd newydd gwbwlhau’r cwrs Mynediad i Addysg Uwch yng Ngholeg Meirion-Dwyfor, wedi ennill gwobr Myfyriwr y Flwyddyn gan Agored Cymru.
Cwblhaodd Kelly, sydd bellach yn astudio Bydwreigiaeth ym Mhrifysgol Bangor, Ddiploma Mynediad i Addysg Uwch (Gofal Iechyd) yn ystod 2022, ar gampws Pwllheli.
Derbyniodd Kelly wobr fawreddog Agored Cymru am y darn o waith gorau a gyflwynwyd i’r corff dyfarnu, mewn seremoni yng Ngholeg Meirion-Dwyfor yn ddiweddar.
Dywedodd Victor Morgan, Rheolwr Mynediad i Addysg Uwch yn Agored Cymru,
"Dangosodd Kelly ragoriaeth ym mhob agwedd o'i gwaith, ac roedd o safon llawer uwch na'r hyn sy'n gyffredin. Ac er bod y wobr hon wedi bodoli ers nifer o flynyddoedd bellach, mae gwaith Kelly yn sefyll gyda'r gorau a fu erioed."
Nod y Diplomâu Mynediad i Addysg Uwch yng Nghymru yw darparu'r sgiliau angenrheidiol i fynd ymlaen i ddilyn rhaglen addysg uwch yn llwyddiannus. Maent wedi'u bwriadu ar gyfer dysgwyr sydd wedi cael profiad bywyd sylweddol ers iddynt gwblhau eu haddysg orfodol.
Mae'r Diploma mewn Gofal Iechyd yn cynnwys pynciau cysylltiedig ag iechyd mewn meysydd fel Anatomeg a Ffisioleg, Cemeg, Microbioleg, Seicoleg ac Iechyd.
Dywedodd Euros Wyn Hughes, Rheolwr Maes Rhaglen Iechyd a Gofal yng Ngholeg Meirion-Dwyfor,
“Mae’r coleg yn hynod falch o lwyddiant ysgubol Kelly. Mae’n amlwg o wrando ar yr hyn oedd gan feirniad y gystadleuaeth i’w ddweud am waith Kelly, ei bod nid yn unig wedi cyrraedd y safon, ond hefyd wedi saernïo darn o waith sy’n rhagori ar yr holl ddisgwyliadau.”
Ychwanegodd,
"Diolch i'r cymhwyster Mynediad i Addysg Uwch, mae Kelly bellach yn dilyn un o'r cyrsiau prifysgol mwyaf cystadleuol - Bydwreigiaeth ym Mhrifysgol Bangor. Rydym yn falch iawn o allu cynnig y cwrs hwn, ac yn falch o weld ein cyn-fyfyrwyr yn rhagori mewn gyrfaoedd fewn gofal iechyd”.

Kelly, who now studies Midwifery at Bangor University, completed the Access to Higher Education (Health Care) Diploma during 2022, at the Pwllheli campus.
Kelly received the prestigious Agored Cymru award for the best presented piece of work submitted to the awarding body, in a ceremony at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor recently.
Victor Morgan, Access to Higher Education Manager at Agored Cymru said,
"Kelly showed excellence in all aspects of her work, and it was of a much higher standard than what is common. And although this award has existed for a number of years now, Kelly's work stands with the best there has ever been."
The aim of the Access to Higher Education Diplomas in Wales is to provide the skills necessary to go on to follow a higher education programme successfully. They are intended for learners who have had significant life experience since they completed their compulsory education.
The Diploma in Healthcare includes health related subjects in areas such as Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Psychology and Health.
Euros Wyn Hughes, Programme Area Manager of Health and Care at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor said,
“The college is extremely proud of Kelly's resounding success. It's clear from listening to what the competition judge had to say about Kelly's work, that she has not only met the standard, but exceeded all expectations."
He added,
"Thanks to the Access to Higher Education qualification, Kelly is now following one of the most competitive university courses - Midwifery at Bangor University. We are very proud to be able to offer this course, and are pleased to see our past students excelling in careers within healthcare”.
