Y Gwaith Adeiladu'n Dechrau ar Ganolfan Beirianneg gwerth £12m ar gampws Coleg Llandrillo yn y Rhyl
Mae'r gwaith o godi Canolfan Ragoriaeth newydd ym maes Peirianneg ar gampws Grŵp Llandrillo Menai ar Ffordd Cefndy yn y Rhyl wedi dechrau.
Wedi'i ariannu gan Lywodraeth Cymru a Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, bydd y prosiect £12 miliwn yn darparu cyfleoedd i bobl yr ardal feithrin y sgiliau angenrheidiol i gael gyrfaoedd llwyddiannus yn y sector peirianneg.
Daeth aelodau o uwch dîm rheoli a llywodraethwyr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, aelod o Senedd Cymru ac arweinydd Cyngor Sir Ddinbych ynghyd yr wythnos hon i lansio'r achlysur. Mae disgwyl i'r ganolfan gael ei chwblhau erbyn diwedd 2023 fel y gall yr addysgu ddechrau yno'n gynnar yn 2024.
Bydd y cyfleuster tri llawr newydd yn 2,886m² ac yn cynnwys gwerth dros £2m o'r offer hyfforddi arbenigol diweddaraf – o ystafelloedd dylunio gyda chymorth cyfrifiaduron i beiriannau prototeipio 3D a pheiriannau torri metel diwydiannol mawr a reolir gan gyfrifiaduron.
Mewn partneriaeth â'r cwmni rhyngwladol RWE Renewables, sy'n rheoli nifer o safleoedd ynni adnewyddadwy ym Mhrydain, bydd y datblygiad newydd yn cynnwys sefydliad newydd ar gyfer Technoleg Ynni Adnewyddadwy. Nodwedd amlwg o'r adeilad fydd neuadd dri llawr ar raddfa ddiwydiannol i wasanaethu a chynnal a chadw Tyrbinau Gwynt.
Meddai Lawrence Wood, Pennaeth Coleg Llandrillo: "Bydd y datblygiad newydd yn gwella campws Coleg Llandrillo yn y Rhyl yn sylweddol. Bydd yn darparu amgylchedd o'r radd flaenaf i ddysgwyr yr ardal allu dysgu a hyfforddi gan ddefnyddio'r dechnoleg ddiweddaraf. Bydd hyn yn fanteisiol tu hwnt iddynt ac yn eu galluogi i ddilyn gyrfaoedd sy'n talu'n dda mewn meysydd fel cynhyrchu ynni, peirianneg a gweithgynhyrchu uwch.
"Fy ngweledigaeth ar gyfer y ganolfan yw ei bod yn gweithio mewn partneriaeth gyda diwydiant er mwyn rhoi'r sgiliau sydd eu hangen ar bobl i gefnogi twf economaidd ac arloesedd yn y sector ar draws Gogledd Cymru."
Meddai Carolyn Thomas MS, Aelod Rhanbarthol o'r Senedd: "Mae'n wych bod yma heddiw i weld pa mor dda mae'r prosiect yn dod yn ei flaen. Mae'r broses wedi bod yn un hir ac rydw i wedi ei chefnogi o'r cychwyn cyntaf. Mae'n gyfleuster pwysig iawn o ran darparu hyfforddiant i bobl Gogledd Cymru ym maes ynni adnewyddadwy."
Meddai Simon Moreton, Cyfarwyddwr Masnachol yn Wynne Construction: "Mae'n newyddion ardderchog fod Grŵp Llandrillo Menai'n ehangu ei ddarpariaeth ym maes yr amgylchedd adeiledig ar ei gampws yn y Rhyl, ac rydym yn hynod o falch ein bod wedi ennill y contract yn dilyn ein llwyddiant wrth ddarparu camau blaenorol y prosiect."
Ychwanegodd Jason McLellan, Arweinydd Cyngor Sir Ddinbych: "Mae'n wych y bydd gennym ni'r cyfleuster i roi i bobl leol y sgiliau perthnasol i weithio ar brosiectau pwysig y dyfodol yng Ngogledd Cymru a thu hwnt."
Nododd Dr Griff Jones, Cadeirydd Bwrdd Llywodraethwyr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai: "Ein bwriad pennaf yw cael y cyfleusterau gorau i'n holl ddysgwyr ar draws pob campws – o Ddolgellau i'r Rhyl."
Funded by the Welsh Government and Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, this £12million project will provide the people of the region with the opportunity to develop the skills needed to have successful careers within the engineering sector.
A ceremonial launch took place this week, attended by senior management and governors from Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, a member of the Welsh Assembly, and the leader of Denbighshire County Council. The centre is due for completion by late 2023 so that teaching can commence in early 2024.
The new, three-floor 2,886m² facility will be packed with more than £2m worth of the latest in highly specialised training equipment: from CAD computer design suites, through 3D prototyping machines, to computer-controlled, large industrial scale metal-cutting CNC machines.
Included within this exciting development will be a new Institute for Renewable Energy Technology, in partnership with international company RWE Renewables, which manages many renewable energy sites across the UK. A stand-out feature of the building will be a three-floor-high industrial scale wind turbine servicing and maintenance hall.
Lawrence Wood, Coleg Llandrillo Principal said: "This new development will significantly enhance our Coleg Llandrillo, Rhyl Campus. It will provide learners in the region with the ability to learn and train on the latest technology in a state-of-the-art learning environment. This will stand them in good stead to pursue well-paid careers in industries such as power generation, engineering and advanced manufacturing.
“My vision for this new centre of excellence is that it operates in partnership with industry, providing people with the skills required to support economic growth and innovation in the sector across North Wales.”
Carolyn Thomas MS, Senedd Regional Member, said: “It is fantastic to be here today to see how well the project is progressing. It has been a long process which I have supported from the outset. It is such an important facility for renewable energy training for the people of North Wales.”
Simon Moreton, Commercial Director at Wynne Construction, said: “It is great news that Grŵp Llandrillo Menai is expanding its built environment provision at its Rhyl Campus, and we are really pleased to have secured this contract following on from our success with the delivery of previous phases.”
