Myfyrwyr y Coleg yn paratoi ar gyfer y Parti Platinwm yn y Palas
Mae dau aelod o staff a chwe myfyriwr o adran Lletygarwch ac Arlwyo Coleg Llandrillo yn edrych ymlaen at achlysur cofiadwy, ar ôl cael eu dewis i fynd i Lundain i'r 'Parti Platinwm yn y Palas' ym Mhalas Buckingham i ddathlu 70 mlynedd y Frenhines ar yr orsedd.
Y prif reswm dros ddewis y coleg yw oherwydd iddo dderbyn yn 2011 'Wobr Pen-blwydd Jiwbilî Ddiemwnt y Frenhines ar gyfer Addysg Uwch ac Addysg Bellach' am "Ddarparu rhagoriaeth o safon fyd-eang ym maes lletygarwch ar bob lefel". Coleg Llandrillo oedd yr unig goleg yng Nghymru i dderbyn yr anrhydedd, ac un o ddim ond tri choleg yn y Deyrnas Unedig!
Y cogyddion ifanc fydd yn mynd yr wythnos nesaf yw: Cai Williams o Ddinbych, Rhian James (Cyffordd Llandudno), Aaron Sherrington (Llandrillo-yn-Rhos), Heather Spencer (Llanfairfechan), Pippa Taylor (Bodelwyddan) ac Alex Cawley (Llanrwst).
Bydd y cyngerdd 'Parti Platinwm yn y Palas' yn dod â rhai o sêr adloniant y byd at ei gilydd i berfformio ym Mhalas Buckingham. Mae'r digwyddiad yn cynnwys sêr y byd cerddoriaeth byd-eang gyda cherddorfa fyw, yn ogystal ag actorion o nifer o ffilmiau a rhaglenni teledu adnabyddus.
Bydd y thema'n parhau gydag un o fyfyrwyr y Coleg ar y cwrs addurno cacennau'n creu cacen dathlu'r jiwbilî platinwm ar gyfer ei hasesiad terfynol!
The main reason that the college has been selected is because in 2011 it was awarded a ‘Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education’ for “Delivering world-class excellence in hospitality at every level”. Coleg Llandrillo was the only college in Wales to be awarded this honour, and one of only three colleges in the UK!
The budding chefs attending next week are: Cai Williams from Denbigh, Rhian James (Llandudno Junction), Aaron Sherrington (Rhos-on-Sea), Heather Spencer (Llanfairfechan), Pippa Taylor (Bodelwyddan) and Alex Cawley (Llanrwst).
The ‘Platinum Party at the Palace’ concert will see some of the world’s biggest entertainers come together for a performance at Buckingham Palace. The event is set to feature an impressive line-up, including global music stars with a live orchestra, as well as actors from many a well-known film and TV shows.
Continuing the theme, the college also has a cake decoration student who is creating a platinum jubilee cake for her final assessment!
