Undeb Myfyrwyr y Coleg yn cael ei enwi y Gorau yng Nghymru am y bedwaredd flwyddyn yn olynol!
Mae Grŵp Llandrillo Menai'n falch o gyhoeddi bod Undeb Myfyrwyr y Coleg wedi'i enwi fel 'y gorau yng Nghymru' am y pedwerydd tro yn olynol yn seremoni wobrwyo flynyddol Gwobrau Undeb Cenedlaethol Myfyrwyr (UCM) Cymru yng Nghaerdydd!
Mae'r wobr 'Undeb y Flwyddyn ar gyfer Myfyrwyr Addysg Bellach yng Nghymru' yn cydnabod parhad gwaith eithriadol Undeb Myfyrwyr y Coleg am ei weithgareddau ymgyrchu ac ymgysylltu â miloedd o ddysgwyr ar 12 campws ac mewn pedair sir. Mae'r ffaith ei fod wedi cyflawni hyn yn yr hinsawdd sydd ohoni yn dyst i'w ymrwymiad a'i benderfynoldeb i brofiadau myfyrwyr.
Gwnaeth y panel beirniadu dynnu sylw at amrediad, effeithiolrwydd a pha mor gynhwysol oedd ymgyrchoedd yr Undeb yn ystod y flwyddyn ddiwethaf, a chanmol ymroddiad Undeb Myfyrwyr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai wrth gefnogi elusennau a chymunedau lleol.
Llwyddodd i ennill y wobr 'Undeb y Flwyddyn ar gyfer Myfyrwyr Addysg Bellach yng Nghymru' ac roedd ar y rhestr fer ar gyfer pedair gwobr arall yn erbyn prifysgolion llawer mwy, sy'n drawiadol iawn.
Cyhoeddodd Llywyddion Undeb Myfyrwyr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai - un ym mhob coleg, sef Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai a Choleg Merion-Dwyfor - ar y cyd: "Rydym mor falch o'r gwaith anhygoel rydym ni wedi'i gyflawni eleni: gwella llesiant y myfyrwyr, hybu hawliau LGBTQ+ a gweithio tuag at ddyfodol mwy cynaliadwy.
"Mae pawb wedi gwneud gwaith gwych, a byddwn yn gweld y gwaith a ddechreuwyd gennym ni yn parhau ymhell i'r dyfodol. Mae'n wych fod y gwaith hwn wedi'i gydnabod gan UCM Cymru a'n bod ni wedi ennill y teitl ‘Undeb Myfyrwyr Addysg Bellach y Flwyddyn’ am y pedwerydd tro'n olynol."
Dywedodd Rheolwr Gwasanaethau'r Dysgwyr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, Lisa Johnson: "Rydw i'n hynod o falch o waith diflino ein Hundeb Myfyrwyr. Mae agwedd 'rydym ni'n medru gwneud hyn' yr aelodau wedi'u galluogi i gyflawni pethau rhagorol ar ran ein myfyrwyr eleni. Dw i wrth fy modd bod eu gwaith wedi'i gydnabod gan UCM Cymru. Bu'n anrhydedd o'r mwyaf gweithio gyda nhw."
Cyrhaeddodd Undeb Myfyrwyr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai restr fer y categorïau a ganlyn: y Wobr Rhyddhad a Chydraddoldeb; y Wobr Cymuned a Chydlyniad; y Wobr Aelod Staff y Flwyddyn a Gwobr Grŵp Myfyrwyr y Flwyddyn.
The Further Education Student Union of the Year award nationally recognises the college union’s continued exceptional work in their campaigning activities, engaging with thousands of learners over 12 campuses and four counties. The fact they were able to achieve this within the present climate further demonstrates their determination and commitment to the student experience.
The judging panel highlighted the range, effectiveness and inclusivity of the union’s campaigns over the last year, and praised Grŵp Llandrillo Menai Student Union’s dedication in supporting local charities and communities.
Not only did it win the Further Education Student Union of the Year award, the Student Union was also shortlisted for four other awards in direct competition with large-scale universities, which is an impressive achievement.
Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s Student Union Presidents – one for each of its colleges of Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor – collectively announced: “We are so proud of the amazing work that we have done this year: improving student well-being, championing LGBTQ+ rights, and working towards a more sustainable future.
“Everyone has done such an amazing job, and we can see the work that we have initiated continuing long into the future. It's fantastic that this work has been recognised by NUS Wales and we have won FE Student Union of the Year for the fourth consecutive time.”
The college group’s Learner Services Manager, Lisa Johnson, said: “I am so proud of the tireless work of our Student Union. Their can-do attitude has enabled them to achieve great things for our students this year. I am delighted that their work has been recognised by NUS Wales. It’s been an absolute privilege to work alongside them.”
Grŵp Llandrillo Menai was also shortlisted in the following categories: the Liberation and Equality Award; the Community and Solidarity Award; the Staff Member of the Year Award, and the Student Group of the Year.
