Myfyrwyr Lefel A yn action mewn cynhyrchiad arloesol
Mae dwy o gyn-fyfyrwyr CMD wedi cael eu dewis fel actorion yn y ffilm a chynhyrchiad arloesol, GALWAD. Bydd Eve Harris o Bwllheli ac Elan Davis o Ddolgellau, sydd newydd orffen eu hastudiaethau lefel A yn y coleg, yn chware rhan ganolog yn y brosiect.
Stori yw GALWAD sy'n datblygu mewn amser go iawn o ddydd Llun 26 Medi tan ddydd Sul 2 Hydref. Cafodd ei ffrydio’n fyw ar sianeli digidol yn ystod yr wythnos, gan orffen gyda darllediad pedair awr ar Sky Arts ddydd Sul 2 Hydref yn fyw o Flaenau Ffestiniog, gyda drama deledu 60 munud i ddilyn wedi'i gosod yn 2052.
Wedi’i hysbrydoli gan Ddeddf Llesiant Cenedlaethau’r Dyfodol (2015), polisi rhyfeddol Cymru sy’n rhoi hawliau cenedlaethau’r dyfodol wrth wraidd y broses o wneud penderfyniadau, mae GALWAD yn stori sy’n dod â dyfodol posibl ar ruthr i’r presennol. Mae’n gwthio ffiniau ynglyn â sut mae straeon wedi cael eu hadrodd, gyda chymeriadau a straeon yn cysylltu ar draws drama deledu, perfformiadau byw, cyfryngau cymdeithasol a newyddion.
Dywedodd Natalie Coles-Williams, darlithydd Drama yng Ngholeg Meirion-Dwyfor.
“Mae gweld ein cyn fyfyrwyr yn cael y math yma o gyfle, wirioneddol yn wych, ac yn destament i’r math o addysg sydd ar gael yma yn y coleg. Mae prosiect GALWAD yn gyfle gwych i ni fedru dangos i’r byd yr holl dalent anhygoel sydd yma yn y gogledd orllewin.”
Ychwanegodd
“Mae’r prosiect hwn yn rhan o ŵyl ehangach UNBOXED, sydd yn ddathliad o greadigrwydd gyda digwyddiadau am ddim drwy gydol 2022 er mwyn datgloi talent yn ein cymunedau. Rydym yn falch iawn o lwyddiant Eve a c Elan.”

The production unfolded in real time from Monday 26 September to Sunday 2 October. It was streamed live on digital channels during the week, culminating in a four-hour broadcast on Sky Arts on Sunday 2 October live from Blaenau Ffestiniog. This was followed by a 60-minute TV drama set in 2052.
Inspired by the Well-being of Future Generations Act (2015) - Wales’s policy which puts the rights of future generations at the heart of the decision-making process - GALWAD is a story that brings possible futures to life. It pushes the boundaries on how stories have been told, with characters and stories connecting across TV drama, live performances, social media and news.
Natalie Coles-Williams, Drama lecturer at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor said: “Seeing our former students get this kind of opportunity was really great, and it is a testament to the kind of education available here at the college. The GALWAD project was a great opportunity for us to be able to show the world all the incredible talent that is here in the north west.
“This project is part of the wider UNBOXED festival, which is a celebration of creativity and consists of free events taking place throughout 2022, aiming to unlock talent in our communities. We are very proud of Eve and Elan's successes."
