Partneriaeth Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor a’r Urdd yn mynd o nerth i nerth.
Yn ddiweddar cafodd myfyrwyr ar ein cwrs Chwaraeon (Antur Awyr Agored) Lefel 3 a Gradd Sylfaen (FDSC) Gwyddor Chwaraeon (GWEITHGAREDDAU AWYR AGORED) yn Nolgellau brofiadau newydd a heriol, dan arweinyddiaeth wych yr Urdd.
Fel rhan o’u cwrs aeth y myfyrwyr ar antur padlo ar draws y Mawddach ac i fyny un o brif fynyddoedd Cymru, Cader Idris er mwyn cwblhau eu cymhwyster.
Mae'r cwrs Chwaraeon Lefel 3 yn cyfateb i hyd at 3 Lefel A. Lle mae angen cwblhau profiad gwaith, a cheir cyfle i gyflawni amrywiaeth o gymwysterau personol a chymwysterau gan gyrff dyfarnu cenedlaethol. Mae’r cwrs Gradd Sylfaen yn arfogi ein myfyrwyr gyda’r sgiliau a'r ddealltwriaeth o'r sector Awyr Agored gofynnol ar gyfer cyflogaeth lwyddiannus.
Dywedodd Eifion Owen, Pennaeth Maes Rhaglen Busnes , TG , Lletygarwch , Chwaraeon , Gwallt a Harddwch, Addysg yn y Gymuned ac Addysg Uwch.
“Nid oes unrhyw amheuaeth bod y cyfnod diweddar, yn sgil yn pandemig, wedi bod yn anodd iawn i lawer o’n myfyrwyr. Rydym yn sicr bod ein tîm yma yn Nolgellau wedi llwyddo yn eu hymdrechion o geisio cynnig y profiadau gorau posib i’n myfyrwyr yn ystod y cyfnod hwn.”
Ychwanegodd
“Mae ein partneriaeth gyda’r Urdd wedi bod yn hanfodol bwysig yn ystod y cyfnod hwn, yn arbennig ein gallu drwy arbenigedd swyddogion yr Urdd o fedru cynnig gweithgareddau awyr agored, a hynny mewn cyfnod heriol iawn.” “Enghraifft perffaith o hyn, oedd ein gweithgareddau diweddar, pan gaofdd ein myfyrwyr y cyfle o fynd allan ar y Mawddach i badlo ac i ddringo Cader Idris, a hynny mewn modd diogel, dan arweiniad a rheolaeth Sion o’r Urdd. Mae ein diolch yn fawr i’r Urdd am greu y cyfleon hyn i ni.”

As part of their course the students went on a paddling adventure across the Mawddach and up one of Wales' main mountains, Cader Idris to complete their qualification.
The Level 3 Sports course is equivalent to up to 3 A levels. Where work experience requires completion, there is the opportunity to achieve a variety of personal qualifications and qualifications from national awarding bodies. The Foundation Degree equips our students with the skills and understanding of the Outdoor sector required for successful employment.
Eifion Owen, Head of Program Area for Business, IT, Hospitality, Sport, Hair and Beauty, Community Education and Higher Education said.
“There is no doubt that the recent times, due to a pandemic, have been very difficult for many of our students. We are convinced that our team here in Dolgellau have succeeded in their efforts to offer our students the best possible experiences during this time. ”

"Our partnership with the Urdd has been vitally important during this time, especially our ability through the expertise of Urdd officers to be able to offer outdoor activities, at a very challenging time."

“A perfect example of this was our recent activities, where our students had the opportunity to go out on the Mawddach to paddle and climb Cader Idris in a safe manner, under the guidance and management of Sion from the Urdd. Our thanks go to the Urdd for creating these opportunities for us. ”
