Aelod o staff Coleg Menai'n agor Llyfrgell Zines gyntaf Cymru
Mae aelod o staff Coleg Menai wedi agor Llyfrgell Zines gyntaf Cymru, gan gynnal gweithdai ar y campws.
Sefydlodd Elin Angharad, cynorthwy-ydd adnoddau dysgu yn y llyfrgell ar gampws Bangor, 'Lyfrgell Zines Cymru', sef gweithdy creu zines.
Bydd pobl yn cyhoeddi eu zines eu hunain, gan gynnwys delweddau a geiriau gwreiddiol a rhai heb fod yn wreiddiol. Amrywia'r pynciau a'r themâu, gan roi penrhyddid i ddylunwyr wrth iddynt greu zines. Nid yw'r prif gyfryngau'n ymdrin â'r rhan fwyaf o'r themâu, felly mae amrywiaeth eang o bynciau ar gael i'r gynulleidfa a'r crëwr.
Pan ofynnwyd iddi sut y daeth ar draws zines, dywedodd Elin: "Rydw i wedi mwynhau darllen a chreu zines erioed. Pan o'n i'n fach, ro'n i'n mwynhau creu fy nghyhoeddiadau darluniadol fy hun. Mae gen i gasgliad mawr o zines, llyfrau celf a llyfrynnau sieb, ac rwy'n mwynhau mynd i ffeiriau celf zine er mwyn ychwanegu at fy nghasgliad."
Er mai'n ddigidol y cânt eu creu fel arfer, yn y gweithdy, arbrofa Elin gyda gwahanol ddulliau o greu zines. Mae'n well ganddi eu creu â llaw, ond daw â phob math o wahanol ddefnyddiau i'r gweithdy, yn amrywio o gylchgronau i deipiaduron!
Eglurodd Elin: "Y peth pwysicaf am greu zines ydi bod y broses yn hwyl fawr! Does dim rheolau, dim camgymeriadau - pwrpas y creu ydi cael hwyl a chael rhyddid i fynegi'ch hun."
Llyfrgell Zines Cymru yng Ngholeg Menai yw'r llyfrgell swyddogol gyntaf o'i bath yng Nghymru. Ychwanegodd Elin: "Mae zines yn dod yn fwy poblogaidd unwaith eto - o bosibl yn sgil yr oes ddigidol, a'r hiraeth am yr oes a fu - felly, rwy'n siŵr y gwelwn ni fwy a mwy o weithgareddau creu zines yn dod i'r amlwg."
Roedd Elin yn awyddus i bwysleisio y gall unrhyw un ymuno â'r gweithdy creu zines.

Elin Angharad, a learning resources assistant at the Bangor campus’ library, has started ‘Zine Library Wales’, a zines creation workshop.
Zines are self-publications full of original or acquired images and words. Topics and themes vary, allowing designers free range in their zine creations. Most of the themes are not covered by the main media, allowing the audience and creator to have access to a wide range of topics.
When asked how she discovered zines, Elin said: “I've always enjoyed reading and creating zines. I enjoyed creating illustrated publications of myself as a kid. I have a large personal collection of zines, art books and chapbooks, and I enjoy attending zine art fairs in order to add to my collection.”
Although usually created digitally, Elin explores different methods of creating zines in the workshop. She prefers to create zines by hand, however she brings along different materials to the workshop, from magazines to typewriters!
Elin explained: “The most important thing about creating zines is that the process is super fun! There are no rules, no mistakes - having fun and expressing yourself freely is the purpose of creation.”
The Zine Library Wales at Coleg Menai is the first official library in Wales. Elin added: “The popularity of zines is once again growing - perhaps in response to the digital age, and with a craving for retro nostalgia - so I'm sure we will see more and more zines activities emerge.”
Elin was keen to emphasise that anyone and everyone can join the zine workshop.
