Myfyrwraig Coleg Menai yn Ennill Pencampwriaeth Taflu Gwaywffon Cymru i Ferched dan 20
Enillodd Abbi Parkinson, sy'n astudio Addysg Awyr Agored yng Ngholeg Menai, y wobr gyntaf yn ddiweddar mewn cystadleuaeth taflu gwaywffon i rai dan 20 oed.
Cynhaliwyd Pencampwriaethau Cymru ddiwedd fis Gorffennaf yng Nghasnewydd. Yno, cafodd Abbi, sydd ond yn 17 oed, ei choroni'n Bencampwr Benywaidd Cymru yn ogystal â sicrhau ei chanlyniad personol gorau eto.
Mae Abbi wedi bod yn hyfforddi ym maes athletau ers oedd hi'n naw oed. Fodd bynnag, dim ond y llynedd yr aeth hi ati i hyfforddi'n llawn i daflu gwaywffon. Mae hi'n hyfforddi yn Nhrac Athletau Treborth sy'n eiddo i Brifysgol Bangor tua thair gwaith yr wythnos.
Wythnos diwethaf, cafodd Abbi y cyfle i gynrychioli Cymru am y tro cyntaf mewn cystadleuaeth Brydeinig a gynhaliwyd yng Ngholeg Moulton, Northampton a llwyddodd i sicrhau'r bedwaredd wobr.
Dywedodd Abbi - "Roedd yn deimlad anhygoel pan wnes i sylweddoli fy mod yn Bencampwr Cymru! Dw i wedi bod yn hyfforddi'n aml iawn yn ddiweddar, felly roedd yn wych gweld bod y gwaith caled wedi talu ar ei ganfed".

The Welsh Championships were held at the end of July in Newport, where at just 17 years old, Abbi became Welsh Female Champion as well as achieving her personal best record.
Abbi has been training in athletics since she was nine years old, however, she only began fully training in javelin last year. She trains at the Bangor University owned Treborth Track around three times a week.
Last week, Abbi also represented Wales for the first time in a British competition held at Moulton College, Northampton, and came an impressive 4th place.
Abbi explained, “It was an amazing moment when I realised I had become the Welsh Champion! I’ve been training quite a lot recently, so it was fantastic seeing that hard work pay off”.
