Staff a myfyrwyr y Grŵp yn Cefnogi'r Ymgyrch Ddyngarol yn Wcráin
Mae staff a myfyrwyr caredig o Grŵp Llandrillo Menai – grŵp colegau addysg bellach mwyaf Cymru – yn ymuno yn yr ymdrech ddyngarol i gefnogi Wcráin mewn nifer o ffyrdd arloesol.
Yn ystod y dyddiau a'r wythnosau ers i'r rhyfel ddechrau, mae staff a dysgwyr ar draws campysau Grŵp Llandrillo Menai wedi rhoi nifer o gynlluniau ar waith i gynorthwyo trigolion y wlad.
Ar gampws Llandrillo-yn-Rhos yr wythnos hon, mae baner Wcráin wedi bod yn hedfan i gefnogi'r rhai y mae'r argyfwng yn effeithio arnynt.
Ar y campws hefyd bydd criw o fyfyrwyr Datblygu Gemau yn aros ar eu traed drwy'r nos i gwblhau ffrwd ddi-stop o e-chwaraeon. Bydd y digwyddiad yn dechrau ar 24 Mawrth ac yn gorffen 24 awr yn ddiweddarach. Bydd yr arian a gesglir yn mynd at elusen ryngwladol y Groes Goch. Pob lwc i Carlton, Leon, Noah, Thomas, Liam... a Rob y tiwtor.
Dosbarthodd 30 o ddysgwyr y cwrs Gwasanaethau Cyhoeddus Lefel 3 ar gampws Y Rhyl focsys yn llawn eitemau hanfodol i fan casglu dynodedig yr wythnos hon. Roedd y bocsys yn cynnwys cewynnau, eitemau ar gyfer mislif ac eitemau ymolchi cyffredinol – ynghyd â negeseuon personol wedi eu hysgrifennu â llaw. Meddai Cara Baker: "Yr hyn oedd yn amlwg oedd y dymuniad gan bawb i wneud bywyd yn haws i'r bobl sydd mewn angen. Mae bod yn rhan o wasanaeth cyhoeddus yn fwy na swydd, mae'n alwedigaeth."
Yn y Rhyl hefyd, mae staff y coleg wedi gosod coeden yn y dderbynfa i fyfyrwyr allu rhoi negeseuon arni i ddangos eu cefnogaeth i bobl Wcráin.
Mae Gwen Evans-Jones sy'n fentor cymorth dysgu ar safle Parc Menai wedi bod yn treulio'i holl amser rhydd yn gwau dwsinau o flodau pabi glas a melyn. Ar ôl eu gorffen mae Gwen yn casglu arian drwy eu dosbarthu i staff a myfyrwyr.
Mae'r myfyrwyr ar gampws Glynllifon wedi bod yn llenwi bocsys gyda nwyddau hanfodol i'w hanfon i Wcráin. Mae'r eitemau'n cynnwys bwyd, eitemau ymolchi, eitemau ar gyfer mislif, llyfrau, eitemau wedi eu gwau i gadw pobl yn gynnes, a theganau a gweithgareddau i blant.
Mae Emrys a Lludd, dau blentyn 9 a 5 oed Swyddog Marchnata Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, Osian Jones wedi ymrwymo i gerdded i gopa 10 mynydd yng Nghymru dros y misoedd nesaf i godi arian at apêl UNICEF i ddarparu cysgod, bwyd a chefnogaeth i blant Wcráin.

Gan ddefnyddio'r dechneg o farblo dŵr, mae myfyrwyr sy'n hyfforddi yn salonau Trin Gwallt a Therapi Harddwch safle Bangor wedi bod yn brysur yn creu dyluniadau i'w rhoi ar ewinedd i ddangos cefnogaeth i Wcráin.
Ar gampus Pwllheli, bu myfyrwyr Lefel A yn gweithio mewn stondin gacennau, yn gwerthu ystod eang o nwyddau pob cartref.
Bydd staff a myfyrwyr sy'n gweithio a hyfforddi ym Mwyty Orme View y coleg yn cynnal cinio elusennol ar 30 Mawrth, ac unwaith eto bydd yr holl elw'n mynd tuag at gefnogi'r rhai a effeithiwyd.
Meddai'r Prif Weithredwr, Dafydd Evans: "Rydw i'n falch iawn o ymdrechion y Grŵp i gefnogi pobl Wcráin. Mae'n dangos ethos a gwerthoedd ein staff a'n myfyrwyr."
In the days and weeks since the war began, staff and learners across Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s campuses have been putting together various initiatives to support the people of Ukraine.
Over at the Rhos-on-Sea campus this week, the Ukrainian flag has been flying in support of those affected.
Also at Rhos, a group of Games Development students will be staying up all night in order to complete a 24-hour Esports’ stream in aid of the Ukraine humanitarian crisis. The marathon event will start at 6pm on 24 March and will finish 24 hours later. Monies raised will be donated straight to the international Red Cross. 30 learners studying on the Level 3 Public Services’ course at the college’s Rhyl campus successfully delivered boxes full of essential items - including nappies, sanitary products and general toiletries - along with hand-written personal messages, to a designated collection point this week. Tutor Cara Baker said: “What really stood out was the collective desire to help make life better for the people in need. Being part of a public service is more than a job, it’s a vocation.”
Also at Rhyl, college staff have placed a tree in the reception area for students to attach messages of support for the Ukrainian people.
Learning support mentor Gwen Evans-Jones, who works on the Parc Menai site, has been spending all of her free time knitting scores of blue and yellow poppies in support. Once completed, Gwen hands them out to staff and students…for a donation.
Students at the Glynllifon campus have been putting together boxes full of essentials, which will be sent over to Ukraine. Items include food, toiletries, sanitary products, books, knitted items to help protect from the cold, and children’s toys and activities.
Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor Marketing Officer Osian Jones’ two young children, 9-year-old Emrys and Lludd, 5, have committed to walk up 10 peaks in Wales over the coming months to raise funds for UNICEF's appeal to provide shelter, food and support for Ukraine's young children.
Over the next few months, the duo – along with three of their friends - will be walking up some of the country's most iconic hills and mountains, finishing the challenge at the summit of Wales' largest mountain Snowdon in August. Students training at the Bangor site’s Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy salons have been busy creating new nail designs in support of Ukraine, using the technique of water marbling.
Staff and students working and training in the college’s Orme View Restaurant will be hosting a charity luncheon event on 30 March, with all proceeds again going towards supporting those affected.
Dafydd Evans, Chief Executive Officer, said: “I’m very proud of the Grŵp’s efforts in supporting the tragedy in Ukraine. It exemplifies the ethos and values of our staff and students.”
