Penodi cyn-fyfyriwr yn Arweinydd Rhaglen yn y Coleg lle buodd yn astudio!

Mae cyn-fyfyriwr wedi cael ei benodi yn Arweinydd Rhaglen Addysg Uwch ym maes y Cyfryngau yn y coleg lle buodd yn astudio.

Mae James Lehart newydd gael ei gyhoeddi fel Arweinydd Rhaglen newydd ar gyfer cyrsiau Cyfryngau lefel prifysgol ar gampws Coleg Llandrillo yn Llandrillo-yn-Rhos .

Fe wnaeth James, a gyfaddefodd ei fod yn “tangyflawni yn yr ysgol”, ragori yn y coleg yn ddiweddarach yn ei fywyd, gan gwblhau Lefelau 1-6 yng Ngholeg Llandrillo yn llwyddiannus, gan gynnwys gradd Anrhydedd Dosbarth Cyntaf!

Sawl blwyddyn ar ôl gadael yr ysgol, dychwelodd i addysg yn 2008, gan gwblhau Diploma ym maes Rhaglenni Digidol yn y coleg. Ar ôl cwblhau’r Diploma, cymerodd amser i ffwrdd o addysg unwaith yn rhagor, gan benderfynu “dechrau o’r newydd yn iawn i roi trefn ar fy mywyd” chwe blynedd yn ddiweddarach.

Yn 2015, cofrestrodd ar gwrs Lefel 3 BTEC yn y Cyfryngau, a chafodd ei roi ar lwybr carlam ar ôl blwyddyn yn unig i ddilyn cwrs gradd BA (Anrh) mewn Cyfryngau Creadigol yn y coleg.

Penderfynodd James wedyn ei fod am fynd i ddysgu, felly cofrestrodd ar gwrs Tystysgrif Addysg i Raddedigion (TAR) a derbyniodd leoliad yn adran Cyfryngau’r coleg. Dywedodd: "Hanner ffordd drwy flwyddyn gyntaf y cwrs TAR, cefais swydd fel darlithydd yn adran Cyfrifiadura a Chyfryngau'r coleg. Felly, des i’n ddarlithydd yn 2020 yn ystod y pandemig.”

Ychwanegodd: "Rwy'n teimlo'n gyffrous am yr her newydd hon. Mae fy mywyd yn dyst i’r dywediad ‘mae gwaith caled yn talu ar ei ganfed yn y pen draw’.”

James Lehart has just been announced as the new Programme Leader for university-level Media courses at Coleg Llandrillo’s Rhos-on-sea campus.

James, who admittedly “under-achieved at school”, later excelled at college, successfully completing Levels 1-6 at Coleg Llandrillo, including a First-Class Honours degree!

Several years after leaving school, he returned to education in 2008, completing the Diploma in Digital Applications at the college. On completion, he again took time out from education, only deciding to “properly start afresh to get my life in order” six years later.

In 2015, he enrolled on the BTEC Level 3 in Media course, and was fast-tracked after only one year onto the college’s BA (Hons) in Creative Media degree course.

James then decided that he wanted to go into teaching, so enrolled on the college’s Postgraduate Certificate in Education Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) course and accepted a placement within the college’s Media department. He said: “Halfway through the first year of my PGCE, I applied for the position of lecturer within the college’s Computing & Media department, which I got. So, I became a lecturer in 2020 during the pandemic.”

He added: “I am excited by this new enormous challenge. My life is testament to the saying ‘hard work pays off eventually’.”
