Grŵp Llandrillo Menai yn Sicrhau Cyllid i Ddatblygu Cyrsiau Cyfrwng Cymraeg Newydd
Mae Grŵp Llandrillo Menai wedi bod yn llwyddiannus unwaith eto eleni am sicrhau Grant Datblygu’r Sector Ôl 16 y Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.
Pwrpas y Grant yw datblygu darpariaeth cyfrwng Cymraeg / dwyieithog newydd yn y meysydd blaenoriaeth, sef :
• Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol
• Gofal Plant
• Gwasanaethau Cyhoeddus
Yn sgil y Grant, caiff diwtoriaid eu recriwtio er mwyn gweithredu’r cynllun, gan ymrwymo i greu adnoddau newydd ac ymaelodi â Phaneli Pwnc y Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.
Un o’r tiwtoriaid hynny yw Karen Keefe; darlithydd Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol yng Ngholeg Rhyl. Mae Karen wedi manteisio ar y cyfle i hybu a hyrwyddo defnydd cymdeithasol, yn ogystal ag yn addysgol, o’r Gymraeg a sgiliau dwyieithog yn y dosbarth.
Blaenoriaeth Karen yw normaleiddio defnydd o’r Gymraeg, gan wneud cynnydd bychain pob dydd gyda’r dysgwyr mewn ffordd hwyliog, anffurfiol.
Yn ychwanegol i hyn, mae Karen yn siarad Cymraeg gydag aelodau eraill o staff yn sgil ei hymrwymiad i fod yn esiampl i’r dysgwyr.
The purpose of the grant is to develop new Welsh-medium / bilingual provision in the following priority areas: Health & Social Care, Childcare and Public Services.
As a result of the grant, tutors will be recruited to implement the scheme, committing to creating new resources and joining the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol's subject panels.
One such tutor is Karen Keefe, lecturer in Health & Social Care at Rhyl College. Karen has taken the opportunity to promote and support the social, as well as the educational use of Welsh and bilingual skills in the classroom.
Karen's priority is to normalise the use of the Welsh language, making small progress each day with the learners in a fun, informal way.
Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol leads the development of Welsh-medium and bilingual education and training in the post-compulsory sector in Wales. The college is achieving this by working effectively in partnership with universities, further education institutions and apprenticeship providers to build a first class, inclusive Welsh-medium education and training system.
Its main aims are to: secure more study opportunities for Welsh-medium students - in partnership with universities; to fund, develop and train new Welsh-medium lecturers for the future; to fund undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships; support students following courses through the medium of Welsh; increase the number of students who choose to study all or part of their course through the medium of Welsh and develop world-class modules, courses and resources for Welsh-medium students.
Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol works through branches located at seven universities across Wales. The branches aim to support the work of the college and act as a local point of contact for students. The choice of Welsh-medium courses has expanded significantly in recent years. There are now around 1,000 different courses for Welsh-medium students, as well as 150 undergraduate scholarships awarded to students annually.
