Grŵp Llandrillo Menai'n dathlu llwyddiannau ei fyfyrwyr

Cynhelir y seremonïau Gwobrwyo Cyflawnwyr bob blwydd i gydnabod llwyddiannau eithriadol ein myfyrwyr Addysg Bellach yn eu hastudiaethau academaidd, yn ogystal â'u cyfraniad i weithgareddau allgyrsiol ac i'r gymuned ehangach.

Derbyniodd pob enillydd dlws a siec am £100. Dewiswyd yr enillwyr o blith dros 21,000 o fyfyrwyr.

Gwahoddir darlithwyr o bob maes pwnc i enwebu myfyrwyr am wobr, a Rheolwr y Maes Rhaglen sydd wedyn yn dewis yr enillydd ar gyfer y ddisgyblaeth honno. Yna mae Penaethiaid pob coleg yn dewis Prif Enillydd y Seremoni Wobrwyo ar sail llwyddiant academaidd a'r hyn a gyflawnwyd ganddynt.

Y myfyriwr chwaraeon, Arian Williams, enillodd wobr Myfyriwr y Flwyddyn yn seremoni Coleg Menai a gynhaliwyd yn y Ganolfan Beirianneg ar gampws Llangefni lle ceir golygfeydd panoramig o'r holl ardal.

Dylan Owens – cyn-fyfyriwr a Phrif Gogydd Lletygarwch yn Stadiwm Etihad Clwb Pêl-droed Manchester City – oedd y siaradwr gwadd ac ef gyflwynodd y wobr i Arian.

Un o Gaernarfon yw Arian ac mae hi wedi cael llwyddiant academaidd rhagorol gan ennill tair gradd Rhagoriaeth seren. Hi hefyd yw pencampwr presennol Cymru dros 200 metr a 100 metr, yn ogystal â'r 400 metr dan do.

Mae hi hefyd yn gwirfoddoli fel hyfforddwr gydag Academi Athletau Gogledd Orllewin Cymru.

Meddai Arian: “Rydw i'n falch iawn 'mod i wedi dod i astudio yng Ngholeg Menai oherwydd dydw i ddim yn meddwl y byddwn i wedi cael cymaint o gefnogaeth mewn ysgol neu goleg arall. Dyna pam rydw i am ddiolch i'm holl diwtoriaid ac i'r tîm lles, gan eu bod wedi fy helpu i ddatblygu cymaint dros y ddwy flynedd ddiwethaf.

“Cyn dod i Goleg Menai doeddwn i erioed wedi meddwl y byddwn i'n gallu mynd i brifysgol. Ond, ddwy flynedd yn ddiweddarach mae Coleg Menai wedi fy helpu i weithio'n galed a chael gradd derfynol o D*D*D* (tair gradd rhagoriaeth seren), rhywbeth na wnes i erioed freuddwydio y byddwn i wedi gallu ei gael.

“Rydw i wedi gwirioneddol fwynhau fy nwy flynedd yng Ngholeg Menai, a byddwn yn argymell unrhyw un sy'n ystyried dod i astudio yma i fynd amdani. Mi gewch chi help efo unrhyw beth a fyddwch chi byth yn teimlo eich bod chi ar eich pen eich hun.

“Diolch i chi am bopeth, Coleg Menai. Rydw i'n gobeithio y bydda i'n mwynhau gymaint yn y brifysgol ag y gwnes i yma.”

Liam Parry oedd enillydd Gwobr Goffa Rhun Jones, a gyflwynir bob blwyddyn i ddysgwr ymroddedig sy'n dilyn cyrsiau mewn Peirianneg Cerbydau Modur. Mae'r wobr er cof am Rhun Jones, cyn-fyfyriwr a fu farw mewn damwain car ym mis Chwefror 2020.

Mae Liam yn fyfyriwr ar y Cwrs Diploma Lefel 3 mewn Egwyddorion Trin a Thrwsio Cerbydau Ysgafn a chyflwynwyd y wobr iddo am ddangos cymeriad, sgiliau a gallu technegol arbennig yn ystod ei dair blynedd yng Ngholeg Menai.

Enillodd fedal aur yng nghystadleuaeth Sgiliau Cynhwysol Cymru yn 2020 ac ers hynny mae wedi cystadlu yng Nghystadleuaeth Sgiliau Cymru yn 2022 a 2023, gan ennill medal arian yn y gystadleuaeth eleni. Y mis hwn daeth Liam yn drydydd yng nghystadlaethau sgiliau rhanbarthol y Deyrnas Unedig ac mae'n gobeithio cael lle yng ngharfan WorldSkills Cymru.

Disgrifiodd Paul Griffith sy’n ddarlithydd yn yr adran peirianneg cerbydau modur Liam fel “ysbrydoliaeth i'r holl ddysgwyr eraill i beidio â bod ofn gwthio eu hunain a datblygu eu sgiliau i'r lefel nesaf”.

Bronwen Kennedy oedd prif enillydd Seremoni Gwobrwyo Cyflawnwyr Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor a gynhaliwyd ym Mhlas Tan y Bwlch ger Maentwrog.

Myfyriwr Safon Uwch o Bwllheli yw Bronwen ac mae hi wedi cael cynnig lle ar y cwrs gradd mewn Meddygaeth ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd. Cafodd ei chanmol am ei gwaith caled a'i brwdfrydedd. Yn ogystal â siarad Cymraeg a Saesneg yn rhugl, mae hi hefyd yn siarad Ffrangeg i safon uchel ac yn ddiweddar wedi dechrau cael gwersi Sbaeneg.

Cynhaliodd Coleg Glynllifon, campws y Grŵp ar gyfer diwydiannau'r tir, ei seremoni wobrwyo ei hun lle dathlwyd llwyddiannau dros 500 o fyfyrwyr yng nghwmni Lesley Griffiths, Gweinidog Materion Gwledig Llywodraeth Cymru.

Lea Morus Williams oedd Prif Enillydd y seremoni. Meddai Lea, a ddilynodd gwrs Lefel 3 mewn Amaethyddiaeth: “Astudio amaethyddiaeth yng Nglynllifon oedd y penderfyniad gorau i mi ar gyfer fy addysg ôl-16. Rydw i wedi cael profiad gwaith, wedi mynd ar dripiau, wedi gwneud gwaith ymarferol, wedi cael yr addysg orau bosibl ac wedi byw oddi cartref. Byddwn yn sicr yn argymell y cwrs hwn i eraill.”

Yn Venue Cymru, Llandudno y cynhaliwyd Seremoni Wobrwyo Coleg Llandrillo, ac Yuliia Batrak oedd y Prif Enillydd.

O Wcráin y daw Yuliia yn wreiddiol ac mae hi'n astudio'r cwrs Gweini Bwyd a Diod ar gampws y coleg yn Llandrillo-yn-Rhos.

Nid dyma'r tro cyntaf i Yuliia ennill gwobr eleni. ⁠Fis Chwefror, cipiodd ddwy fedal aur ym Mhencampwriaethau Coginio Rhyngwladol Cymru ar ôl sgorio 100 pwynt ym mhob cystadleuaeth – y cystadleuydd cyntaf erioed i wneud hyn ers i'r gystadleuaeth ddechrau 25 mlynedd yn ôl. Yr wythnos hon, fe fydd hi hefyd yn cystadlu yn rownd ragbrofol cystadleuaeth goginio WorldSkills UK.

Pan ymosododd Rwsia ar ei gwlad dihangodd Yuliia i Brydain gyda'i mam a'i chwaer, gan adael ei thad a'i brawd yn Kiev.

Ar ôl y seremoni, dywedodd Yuliia: “Roedd ennill yn syndod i mi. Rydw i'n ddiolchgar iawn i'r coleg ac i Glen, fy nhiwtor. Mae o wedi rhoi pob cefnogaeth i mi o'r diwrnod cynaf un. Mae'r coleg yn rhoi cyfleoedd da i chi weithio'n galed a gwella'ch hun ac rydw i'n ddiolchgar iawn am hynny.

“Roedd y llynedd yn flwyddyn ofnadwy i mi, ond wrth ddod i'r coleg bob dydd mi ddechreuais i deimlo'n hapusach.

“Mi adawodd Mam y wlad efo fi a'm chwaer heb iaith arall a heb wybod i ble roedden ni'n mynd. Mae hi'n hapus dros ben 'mod i wedi ennill y wobr yma ac yn falch iawn ohona i.”

Meddai Dafydd Evans, Prif Weithredwr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai: “Llongyfarchiadau i'r holl enillwyr sydd wedi dangos ymroddiad a dawn arbennig iawn. Rydym yn eithriadol o falch o lwyddiannau eithriadol ein dysgwyr yng Ngrŵp Llandrillo Menai. Maen nhw'n dysteb i'n cenhadaeth o ‘Wella Dyfodol Pobl’ ac yn dysteb hefyd i gefnogaeth eu darlithwyr a'u tiwtoriaid personol.

“Yma yng Ngrŵp Llandrillo Menai, ymdrechwn i gynnig cyfleoedd gwych i ddysgwyr lwyddo a chyflawni hyd eithaf eu gallu – ac felly mae digwyddiadau fel ein Seremonïau Gwobrau Cyflawnwyr yn ffordd wych o ddathlu eu llwyddiannau. Da iawn bawb.”

Held annually, the Further Education Achievers Award ceremonies acknowledge students who make outstanding achievements and contributions to academic studies, extracurricular activities, and the wider community.

Each achiever received an engraved trophy and a cheque for £100. The winners were chosen from more than 21,000 students.

Lecturers from each subject area are invited to nominate students for an award within that discipline, with the winner being chosen by the respective Programme Area Manager. The Principals of each college then go on to select the Overall Winner of the Awards Ceremony, based on their achievements and academic success.

Sports student Arian Williams was crowned the Overall Winner at Coleg Menai’s ceremony, held in the Engineering Centre on Llangefni’s campus, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Dylan Owens - Coleg Menai past-student and Head Chef of Hospitality at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium - was the evening’s guest speaker, and presented Arian with her award.

Arian, from Caernarfon, has achieved academic excellence and gained a triple distinction star overall, while also being the current Welsh athletics champion over 200 metres and 100 metres, as well as 400 metres indoors.

She also volunteers as a coach with the North West Wales Athletics Academy.

Arian said: “I am so glad that I came to study at Coleg Menai because I don't think I would have received as much support from any other school or college as much as I got from Coleg Menai. This is why I want to thank all my tutors and the wellbeing team, as they have helped me so much to grow over the past two years.

“Before coming to Coleg Menai I never thought I would be able to go to university. However, two years down the line, Coleg Menai has helped me to work hard and achieve a D*D*D* (triple distinction star) in my final grade, which I never thought I was capable of achieving before coming here.

“I really have enjoyed my two years at Coleg Menai, and I would recommend anyone thinking of coming to study at Coleg Menai to just go for it. They will help you with anything and you will never feel alone.

“Thankyou for everything Coleg Menai. I really hope I will enjoy university as much as I did here.”

Liam Parry was the winner of the Rhun Jones Memorial Award, presented each year to a deserving learner on the Automotive Engineering courses. The award is given in memory of Rhun Jones, who sadly passed away in February 2020 following a tragic car accident.

Liam, a student on the Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles, was presented with the award after showing great character, skills and technical ability during his three years at Coleg Menai.

He won gold in the Inclusive Skills Wales competition in 2020, before competing in the Skills Wales Competitions in 2022 and 2023, earning a silver medal in this year’s event. Liam finished third in this month’s UK regional skills competitions and it is hoped he will progress into the Wales squad for the WorldSkills.

Liam was described by automotive engineering lecturer Paul Griffith as “an inspiration to all other learners to not be afraid of pushing yourself and taking your skills to the next level”.

The overall winner at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor Achievers Award Ceremony, held at Plas Tan-Y-Bwlch, near Maentwrog, was Bronwen Kennedy.

A Level student Bronwen, from Pwllheli, has been offered a place on the medical degree programme at Cardiff University, and was commended for her hard work and passion. As well as being a fluent speaker in Welsh and English, she is also highly proficient in French, and has recently taken up Spanish lessons.

Coleg Glynllifon, the college group’s land-based education campus, held its own Prize Day ceremony, where the achievements of more than 500 students were celebrated, with Welsh Government Minister for Rural Affairs, Lesley Griffiths, in attendance.

Lea Morus Williams was the Overall Winner at the ceremony[1] [2] . Lea, who studied Level 3 Agriculture, said: “Studying agriculture at Glynllifon has been the best decision for me for my post-16 education. I have had work experience, trips, practical work, the best education and lived away from home. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone.”

Venue Cymru in Llandudno hosted Coleg Llandrillo’s Awards Ceremony, where Yuliia Batrak was the Overall Winner.

Yuliia, originally from Ukraine, studies Food & Beverage Service at the college’s Rhos-on-Sea campus.

This isn’t the first award Yuliia has won this year. She was also awarded two gold medals at the Welsh International Culinary Competition in February after scoring a maximum 100 points in each competition - the first competitor to ever achieve this in the 25-year history of the competition. She was also due to compete in the UK heat of the WorldSkills culinary competition this week.

Yuliia arrived in the UK with her mum and sister following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, leaving behind their home in Kyiv and her dad and brother.

After the ceremony, Yuliia said: “I was so surprised to win. I’m so grateful to the college and to my tutor Glen. He has supported me all the way since the first day I started. The college gives really good opportunities to work hard and to improve yourself and I’m really grateful for this.

“Last year was really awful for me but with each day at the college I’ve started to be happier and happier.

“My mum left the country with my sister and I without another language and not knowing where she was going to go, so she is really proud of me winning this award, and so happy.”

Dafydd Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, said: “Congratulations to all of the winners who have shown exceptional commitment and talent. We’re extremely proud of the outstanding achievements of our learners at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai. They are a testament to our mission statement of ‘Improving People’s Futures’ and a tribute to their supportive lecturers and personal tutors.

“Here at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai we strive for outstanding learner opportunities and success - and so events such as our Achievers Awards ceremonies are a fantastic way to celebrate their accomplishments. Well done everyone.”
